health equity
At Wholesome Management, we define health equity as the fundamental principle that individuals have fair access to the resources, opportunities, and conditions needed to attain optimal physical, mental, and social well-being. For us, health equity recognizes and addresses the systemic and structural barriers that contribute to health disparities among different populations.
We recognize that health is influenced by a multitude of factors, including social determinants such as income, education, housing, access to healthcare, and systemic factors such as racism, discrimination, and power imbalances. We strive to dismantle barriers and create inclusive and equitable environments where everyone can thrive.
To actualize health equity, we believe in promoting social justice, advocating for policies that address the root causes of health inequities, and actively engaging with communities to identify and address their unique health needs collaborating across sectors, including non-profit organizations, coalitions, and community stakeholders, to collectively develop and implement community-driven solutions, culturally responsive, and evidence-based strategies.
